Hey Whirlpool!

Up Yours! Sheesh. Just a short 4 weeks after I called Whirlpool to have them come fix our washer, it's now fixed. And we were still under warranty. Truthfully, I guess I can't fault Whirlpool entirely since they outsource their service to local service businesses. First they said it was the pump, but of course they didn't have a new pump in stock so they'd have to order it from Denver. That finally arrived a week later, and he installed it, told me it was fixed and left. The next day I tried to do laundry... surprise, it's still not working, and in fact doing the same thing that I complained to them about originally. One would wonder how he determined it was fixed, if he never turned it on to test it. So, I had to call back and tell them it was still broken, and wait for them to come back the next day. They came back, and finally determined that it wasn't really the pump (oh, really?!), but actually the emergency overflow switch. And of course (you guessed it) they didn't have that in stock either, so they'd have to order that from Dallas, but it should be in within 3 days. Well, 3 days came and went, and no word from the repairman. After several phone calls to the repairman, they finally called us back to say that the part still hadn't come in yet, and they'd be sure to let us know when it finally arrived. Grrr. Well, today is the day that it all finally came together. The part came in, the repairman came, installed it, and ran it through his quick "test". He told me it was fixed, and so I immediately started a load of wash, while he quickly snuck out the front door. Seriously... he left before I'd even been able to push the start button. He's just lucky it really is fixed, because he would have had one upset lady chasin' him down in black BMW with tinted windows. This repair place is also a local appliance store. Guess where we're NOT buying our next appliance from? Oh well, I guess that's one more life lesson under our belts. At least now we'll have clean jeans to put on with our belts.

Isn't that the life?! Probably good that Joe wasn't home very much. I know if Alan were home and I was dealing with that, he would be pretty ticked in pretty short order. The poor guy might stroke out on me!

At any rate, glad to hear that your washer is in working order again. I'm sure it's quite the luxury to have around again. :)
