Check in

Ok, so apparently people actually do read this blog, because I've heard from at least 4 of you that it's about time I post again, so here I am... posting.

Well, we're back from the Ohio trip, and finally have everything put away, and back to the routine life. We had a really good visit with our families and friends, though I've never been so happy to be home. As we were driving south on I-27 from Amarillo, only an hour from home, I realized again how happy I am to live and love with such a wonderful man. I am so blessed with such a good man; and not to mention, he's down right handsome.

Man, I'm a home-body... it's serious. I spent the first weekend back drinking my morning coffee, cleaning the house, and then enjoying a date with my hubby. I would consider that a perfect Saturday. Then, as if that wasn't good enough, we finished out the weekend with cheesey popcorn, which is a Sunday night classic at our house. We've been doing without that little tradition for the past two months because we've been out of the popcorn cheese, and I haven't found it anywhere down here. So, while we were in OH, we loaded up with about 5 tubs of it. You can bet we're in cheddar cheese lovin' heaven, with orange lips to prove it! Then, this week I broke in some of my new Christmas cookware making some home-cooked goodness. I got some amazing kitchen accessories for Christmas, so I must have been a little bit good last year. My Honey got me a 7-cup Cuisinart food processor, and 4 Le Creuset casseroles of various sizes. I also got new measuring cups, and spoons, and a 12-inch, and 8-inch All-Clad fry pans! Yep, absolutely fabulous. And then, as if that wasn't good enough, we stopped at the Chicago Cutlery outlet on the way back to TX and found a great deal on a new knife set. So, not that I needed another reason to cook, but now, it's just outright fun to use all my new stuff. I hope you'll forgive my moment of listing some presents, but it's been fun, and I wanted to share the joy.

Oh, one more thing... I found a great new cooking site. And that's thanks to my favorite NP. Check out the link to the right. This woman's got some great recipes, and wonderfuls pics of the process. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years!
